Meet Jen

Hi love,

I’m Jen, and I’m best known for my “Chun Li – lightening kick” and my graphic design/ web skills. I’m also a self proclaimed twitter internet Darling™

How did you get your start in graphic design?

Now that’s a funny story… It all began in 8th grade and me hating homework. Remember those “no homework coupons”??? I sure do, they were blue and had some stars on them with a tripple border. I was a smart girl, so I just made my own on the computer. I copied the design exactly and had fun doing it. I’ve been into graphics ever since.

Jen, how tall are you?

I’m 5′ 7″ I drank a ton of milk growing up..like 3 glasses a day. Seriously! That is your answer to #legstuesday lol (scroll back up…yes!)

What is your ethnic background?

Don’t make me go “Kill Bill Oren Ishii” on you. I hate this question fyi. I’m super mixed. Like a fine blend of coffee.

How did you get the nick name, “fresh jen dizzle?

There’s a lot of reasons… it’s my “street name” In my neighborhood, everyone has a cool name. I’m fresh because, there’s always something different about me. I’m different. I like bright colors, new clothes, I smell good…fresh also means kinda sassy. I have quick come backs etc. My designs are always fresh, in style too. That would be fresh. Dizzle is a different story. I like to think of it as slang for…design. There you go, fresh design by Jen.

Wow! You’re realy into video games?

Yup, I have been playing since Pong…lol. I loved my super mario, street fighter, mortal kombat back in the day. For me, video games, and design go hand in hand. The designs of the interface, sounds, “look and feel” really got me into design too.
Growing up, I loved Chun Li. Finally, a badass role model. She was the first girl to be an action character in a video game. She also made it “OK” for girls to play video games.

What I bring to the table

Us ladies have an advantage in the design world. We understand what pretty design is, appreciate it and can make it happen.  Traditional sites built by men are usually super ugly, you know what I’m talking about…(sorry fellas) the boxy flat colors, severe bold text and basically no style. My style is fresh, clean and alive. I have the design flexability to design very feminine or badass rugged.  I know I’m rare because I can code, do html/css/seo and make it look nice. I’m a designer and developer.  I have both sides of the coin. Cha-Ching!

My good Mornings:

My most favorite part of my day is driving to work. I love driving fast and adore my import car the ’99 Acura Integra. My heart gets excited on the rush of speed and adept driving skills.

Things I Love:

that new tire smell, cute dogs, video games, long steamy showers, cars, driving, the color pink, comedy, watching the TV show “COPS”, flowers, real people, intelligent people, designing, martial arts, working on websites, blue eyes, cooking, (food tangent) ice cream, pie, IN-N-OUT burgers, hot dogs, fried rice, plums, I love all food actually. As for movies, I like action or comedy. Anything with Bruce Lee , Jet Lee or Jackie Chan.
